August 2011 saw Cambridgeshire Army Cadets complete the first Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award in 8 years. Using Capel Curig Training Camp as a base Cambridgeshire Cadets and Adults set to; preparing for a four day three night Expedition that would take in 3 Mountain ranges in the Snowdonia National Park.

National First Aid Competition – It took place 15th October at the Royal Academy Sandhurst. The team had to carry out a team test and each member also had to complete an individual test. The cadet who got the highest score out the Cambridge team scored a very respectable 35 out of 40. This was the first time the team had worked together as they had not managed to do any training, to be placed 7th is an excellent result. The team will start training soon for next year’s competition but we are always looking for new members and even a second team. If cadets are interested in becoming part of the team they should contact either the RSM or 2Lt Gaskell.

Soham Detachment Help For Heroes Fundraiser:- On the 1st and 2nd July 2011 Soham Detachment were involved in collecting at Tesco's, Ely for Help For Heroes. Through selling wrist bands and raffling a teddy bear they raised just over £2800.00. >> Find Out More
