The Cambridgeshire Regiment traces it's line of decent from 1860 up until the present day with D (Cambridgeshire) Company, 1st Battalion, The Royal Anglian Regiment.

The Regimental history can be found on the "Useful Web Links" page.

The Regimental Council set up in 1984 is still in existence today. Its role is to ensure the continuance of the Cambridgeshire Regiment name, traditions and history for generations to come. It also looks after the welfare of its members and encourages  Branch Membership of the Regimental Association.

In October 2003 the Presidency of the Council was handed over from Colonel Wally Badcock, MBE, to Mr Freddie Grounds DL ( see picture left).

Mr Ground's father served with the Cambridgeshires in the First World War
