Aim - To broaden young people’s experiences through involvement with others in a residential setting

Your Residential Project needs to be some form of purposeful enterprise in an unfamiliar environment with people you do not already know.

It should be at least 5 consecutive days with 4 nights spent away.

Choices

Suitable opportunities will generally fall into one of the following categories:

• Conservation or environmental work

• Service to others

• Activity based

• Personal training

There are a number of residential opportunities available to ACF members which fulfil the criteria:

• Cadet Leadership Course

• Master Cadet Course

• MoD Courses *

• TA/Regular Army attachments *

• Canada exchange visits

• BAOR visits

• AIs Course *

• KGVI Course *

• Specialist Training Courses (e.g. Adventurous Training, First Aid, Coaching etc.) *

• Annual Camp *

For the residential project section of the award participants should not receive any pay. You should discuss this with your D of E Officer for more information.

If you are a Cadet and want to use Annual Camp as the Residential Project you may not meet all the criteria to do so. Speak with your D of E Officer for more advice.
