Army Proficiency Certificate (APC)

The APC provides the Syllabus and structure for Cadet Training nationally. It is progressive and is split into 5 Star Levels, each covering the same subjects but with increasing levels of complexity. It takes Cadets aged 12 years old from Basic Level up to 18 years old at Master Cadet Level.

Aged 12 to 18 years KILL AT ARMS

Cadets are seen here taking part in field training. They are taught how to move in the field without being seen, carry out different types of patrols and how to handle weapons safely.

Weapon safety is specifically taught and the highest levels of safety are insisted upon at all times. Cadets learn how to maintain, clean and fire weapons under strict Adult supervision.

All Adult Instructors in the Army Cadet Force are trained and tested by the Regular Army to the highest standards before being authorised to train the cadets.

Shooting is a skill which when mastered gives a high degree of satisfaction. Marksmanship principles are taught and many Cadets become very skilled at hitting the  target. Safety is a factor always at the top of the agenda.

Where would be without Drill & Turnout?.....it's the first thing that comes to mind when you mention the word "Army". The style of uniform has changed over the years but the basic drill  movements live on as an excellent method of teaching personal smartness, team work and co-ordination.

Having to cook an Army  24 hour ration pack is not the easiest thing to do. Your cooking ability will be the difference between a nice hot meal or a "disaster" to remember!

The 24 hour ration packs are great to eat, and different menus are available to cater for all types of diet.
