Cadets at Cherry Hinton in Cambridge were honoured by the presence of the Mayor of Cambridge Jenny Bailey and the Mayoress Jennifer Liddle on Tuesday 1st April at a detachment evening with music as the centre piece.
Twenty two local cadets paraded at the TA Centre for the event, backed up by five cadets and four adults from the combined Corps of Drums. During the evening the Mayor took the baton to conduct the band - and even the young daughter of our Director of Music John Shaw took part ! The Commandant Colonel Roger Herriot and the OC 2 Company Major Steve Martin were present to witness Cadet Lance Corporal Ben Pascoe from St Ives being presented with his coveted 'drum' badge by the Mayor for his first public performance.
