The Young First Aider of the Year Awards this year took place at London Zoo on 10th July, where no fewer than ten of the fourteen commemorative medals available went to cadet force members  -  a massive eight to the Army Cadet Force around the country, and TWO of these to Cambridgeshire cadets !  The medals were awarded by a committeee of St John Ambulance for using first aid skills in real life situations and were presented by Sir Brian Jenkins, St John Prior of England and the Islands.

Take a look below to share the special day with Cadet Sergeant Amy Neale and Cadet Corporal Alix Lovell.    Amy had treated casualties at a winter road accident and Alix had treated the victim of a serious assault in Cambridge city........
