Each year in the summer Cambridgeshire ACF embarks on the biggest, fun packed, challenging event in its calendar - Annual Camp.
The planning for such a mammoth event starts at least a year before it takes place. Depending on the camp’s location and facilities a comprehensive training package is put together to include APC training, education and social activities. Many are involved in the complex task of getting all of our equipment - from uniform, and adventure training kit – to computers and stationery - to camp and back again. Then of course many others are involved in getting the cadets themselves there and back!
Camps are designed to be fun, challenging and fulfilling. There is no doubt that it is the highlight of the cadet year and many cadets progress through the star levels much more rapidly by attending annual camps. This of course means that they become much more proficient and qualify for promotion much faster. Days are also included in the programme to give cadets time to relax, socialise, explore and learn about the area in which we are staying. Sometimes even trips abroad are included as part of the camp package!
