Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force - Make Your Mark

Annual Camp 2010

Crowborough Training Camp is located on the outskirts of Crowborough town in the County of East Sussex, South East England. Crowborough sits on the edge of Ashdown Forest and is 7 miles to the South West of Royal Tunbridge Wells. It is one of the highest points in Sussex being 240meters (787 ft) above sea level, or the equivalent of 56 double decker buses! Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859–1930), the author of the Sherlock Holmes novels is probably the towns most famous ever resident, and the town boasts one of the only statues of him anywhere in the world.

Camp Overhead

At just over 120 miles it should only be about a 2 and a half hour trip by coach. One of Crowborough Training Camp’s claims to fame is that it was used as one of the locations of the Dr Who Episode ‘The Curse of Fenric’, transmitted in 1989. The Training Camp is still part of Cinque Ports, Kent training area, meaning we can take advantage of many of the excellent training facilities from the 2009 camp. For more adventure there are an expedition and exploration that you can take part in after the main camp.

Still in the planning stages this is the information we have so far:-

The advance party will be at camp from 5th August with the main body arriving on 7th August. The journey home will be on 15th August. D of E and APC Expedition and Exploration to the North Downs are in the planning stages and will take place between 15th -19th August although the exact dates are to be confirmed.

This Annual Camp will be the same as 2009 having Junior, Intermediate & Senior Companies. We are waiting for confirmation as to how the split of the three categories will work - there will still be Range, Exercise and Camp Packages. For more information on each of the cadres please refer to the cadre pages.

Keep watching over the coming months for further updates!
