Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force - Make Your Mark

Intermediate Cadre

There are three different packages for the Intermediated Cadre at this years camp. As is always the case with the first set of camp information being published the details are subject to change. Below outlines what we are hoping to include.

Exercise Package

The First part of the camp is the Exercise Package. Taking place at Pippingford Park (In the heart of Ashdown Forest)  this should provide an excellent training area to test you fieldcraft skills.

Ashdown Forest was originally a dear hunting forest in nomad times, it is now the largest free public access space in the South East. It is a great place for walking and enjoying spectacular views over the Sussex countryside and is known the world over as the 'home' of Winnie-the-Pooh and friends.

With the varying terrain and environments you will have to adapt your skills and tactics to match the changing surroundings. Below are some pictures which show the diversity of Ashdown Forest.

Below is a picture of Pooh Bridge where Winnie-the-Pooh invented Pooh Sticks, a game he and his friends used to play. This bridge is now a major tourist attraction.

Camp Package

With most of these activities they will only take place if we have the qualified staff to run them.

Paintball

There is facility at the camp for a paintball alley. The area should provide a testing environment to provide a fun but challenging activity.

The pictures show cadets on a paintball alley during "Steelback Cadet" last year.

Obstacle Course

The camp has its very own, very long and very demanding obstacle course. Are you up to the challenge?

Other Activities

There will be other things taking place including Map & Compass testing as well as sports. As soon as more details are finalised we will update the information on this page.

Shooting Package

For the Intermediate Cadre you will be back to Hythe ranges for your Shooting Package. We are exceptionally lucky to be able to use the best ranges in the country two years running. Some of the ranges we had last year we will not be using this time. Fear not as we are hoping to secure the extremely popular Village as well the shotgun range and the best ranges to develop your training and skills.

As Hythe Ranges are much further away from Crowborough than last years camp you will be staying at Kent CTC for the duration of the Shooting Package. This new complex provides excellent facilities and is only a short ride away from the ranges.
