Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force - Make Your Mark

Junior Cadre

With the camp having a  .22 Rifle Range all the Junior Cadre activities are likely to be on camp with the exception of the Exercise Package and Adventure Training. As is always the case with the first set of camp information being published the details are subject to change. Below outlines what we are hoping to include.

Camp Package

Shooting

As already stated on camp is a .22 Range which we will be using. Any one who is not trained on the No. 8 rifle by the time they get to camp will be trained on camp so that everyone will get the chance to shoot.

Signals

There will be signals training taking place at camp by our County Signals Officer CI Hall. There will be theory work which will be balanced by hands on training with the different signals equipment we use in the ACF. This would be a great opportunity to pass the Radio Users Course.

First Aid

As always our County First Aid Adviser SMI Edwards SBSt.J will be running courses at camp. Again these courses are mixed with theory and practical work. As the couch of our national award winning first aid team you have one of the best first aid trainers in the country. All courses are St John approved courses and you will come away with a qualification.

Adventure Training

There may be the chance to do some adventure training at this years camp. The only confirmed AT activity so far is canoeing which will take place at the lakes at Pippingford Park which is about a 15 minute trip from the main camp.

Royal Signal Motorcycle Experience

The aim of the Motorcycle Experience is to introduce young people to the skills of riding a motorcycle in a thrilling but safe and controlled way. As well as the bikes the team may bring some signals equipment which they will explain and may also provide you the option to try. If you are thinking of a career in the Royal Signals they will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

The pictures below show some of our cadets with the team at the Army Careers Exhibition last summer.

Exercise Package

For the Junior Cadre Exercise Package this year we will be returning to Mereworth Woods. As we found out last year this is an excellent area for training on. With the more open areas as well as dense wood this is the ideal place to practice all the new fieldcraft skills you will be learning. Mereworth Woods is roughly a 45 minute drive from the main camp.

Below are a couple of the pictures from last years Exercise Package at Mereworth Woods.
