All new adult instructors are required to complete the basic induction course. This course is comprised of 7 training evenings (usually Mondays) and 1 weekend which are held at the Cadet training Centre, Denny End Road, Waterbeach near Cambridge.
The first evening will entail completion of the necessary paperwork to process your application. The remaining evenings will comprise lectures and practical training sessions from qualified instructors covering:-
Terms & Conditions of Service,
Pay, allowances and Employment terms
Heartstart
Responsibilities and guideline for Adult Leaders
You will also be measured up and issued uniform
The weekend training involves:-
Safety
Drill and Turnout
Map and Compass
Fieldcraft
On conclusion of the induction course, and once notification of CRB and security clearance has been received, you will be able to parade at your appointed detachment as a Potential Instructor (PI). You will put on your uniform for the first time as an ACF adult and be able to teach cadets basic skills from the army proficiency certificate (APC) syllabus under supervision of a qualified instructor.
