As part of
Cambridgeshire Army cadet Force you can also take advantage of the
qualifications on offer from the Cadet Vocational Qualification Office
(CVQO). The CVQO offers a progressive adult awards programme which
enables you as a member of cadet staff to gain recognition for the
commitment you have already made to the Cadet Forces.
Qualifications on offer include:
City &
Guilds - Membership in Strategic Youth Management
A level 7
master's level qualification from City and Guilds entitles you to use
the post nominals MCGI and comes with a formal graduation ceremony.
Aimed at adults who meet the qualifying time and rank requirements which
is the highest level qualification available to the most dedicated adult
volunteer.
City &
Guilds – Graduateship in Youth Management and Training
A level 6
graduate level qualification from City and Guilds entitles you to use
the post nominals GCGI and comes with a formal graduation ceremony.
Aimed at adults who meet the qualifying time and rank requirements means
you have shown real commitment to gain this one.
City &
Guilds – Licentiateship in Youth
Leadership and Training
Designed for
adults who have been running a cadet detachment for a period of time.
This City and Guilds award is a level 4 NVQ qualification which comes
complete with the post nominals LCGI and the opportunity to attend a
formal graduation ceremony.
Institute of
Leadership and Management – Award in First Line Management
Attained by
adult instructors who attend the King George VI memorial course at
Frimley Park. This course is designed to help instructors run a
detachment and organise low level training exercises. The qualification
itself is awarded by the internationally renowned Institute of
Leadership and Management and is a very useful qualification to present
to a potential employer!

and L11 Enables Learning through Presentation, Demonstration and
Instruction

Assessment using a Range of Methods
NVQ – A2
Assessment through Observation
NVQ – V1
Demonstrates the ability to Conduct Quality Assurance of the Assessment
Process
All are
recognised VQ awards which show you have demonstrated a number of
skills. The ‘L' awards show your ability to teach through presentation,
demonstration and instruction. The ‘A' awards highlight your ability to
assess through a range of methods and the ‘V' award allows you to verify
others work. All are highly valued qualifications in the civilian world.
