GOC 5 Div Visits Cambs ACF
Major General Martin Rutledge OBE, appointed in January as the General Officer Commanding 5 Division of the British Army, visited Cambridgeshire ACF on Saturday 21st February 2009. He met adult instructors and cadets of No.2 Company and watched as they trained towards their 2 and 3 star APC awards. Highlight of the day was the first use of new CZ 200 .177 calibre air rifles on the purpose built (temporary) range in the grounds of Waterbeach HQ. The new rifles, funded by East Anglia RFCA, can fire 7 types of pellets and will be a great introduction to target shooting. Our very own RSMI Peter Lyddiatt took the first shots and proclaimed the rifle "An excellent bit of kit which is light and easy to use".
