Ely Old Comrades Parade 2009
Glorious weather heralded the annual parade of The Old Comrades Association of The Cambridgeshire Regiment at Ely Cathedral on Sunday 14th June 2009. True to tradition, Cambridgeshire ACF paraded with the old soldiers to show our appreciation of their sacrifices - particularly during WW2 when many suffered terrible treatment as prisoners of war in the Far East. Following the church service our Corps of Drums led the parade on the Cathedral Green under Drum Major Amy Gray (17) from Peterborough, followed by many fellow cadets from around the County. The occasion also enabled Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire Hugh Duberly CBE to present the Cadet Forces Medal to 3 Coy Commander Major Tony Scales and to present a cheque for £1,000 to Colonel Roger Herriot on behalf of the Cambridgeshire ACF Supporters League.
