Ramsey 1940's Weekend |

|
Over
the weekend of the 22nd to 23rd August 15
Cadets and 5 Instructors attended what is becoming a national
event, the Ramsey 1940’s Weekend held at RAF Upwood. The cadet’s
main duty over the two days include marshalling the car park but
they also had time to experience the sights and sound of 1940’s
life. Wartime aircraft including the Spitfire, Mustang and
Messerschmitt were put through their paces in magnificent air
displays throughout the day. With vehicles from lorries to
bicycles, military re-enactors, hundreds of people including
visitors dressed in period costume and music of the era it gave
a real insight to life of the time. A few of the cadets really
got into the ‘swing’ of things when they took part in one of the
many dance lessons on offer. On Sunday the cadets proudly
marched in the main parade which included a service of
remembrance.
