3 Star Activity First Aid
Over the weekend of the 5th to the 7th March, 6 senior cadets took part in the 3 Star Activity First Aid weekend. Covering everything from major bleeds, recovery position, shock, resuscitation, breaks and sprains the qualified instructors taught them everything they needed to qualify. It was up to the cadets to put all they had learnt into practice for the assessments which consisted of an incident management, recovery positions and resuscitation. The training and practice paid off as all the cadets passed the course which is a St John Ambulance accredited course which they can use outside of cadets, as well as enamelling them to teach basic and 1 Star cadets at detachment. Our thanks go to Padre Jesson who stepped in at late notice to run the course in place of SMI Edwards. We would also like to thank Graham Waterson and Debbie Petticanboth from St John Ambulance who gave up their Sunday to assess the cadets.
