Some 25 Cadets and 7 Instructors where involved in the band
camp over the Easter weekend. These camps are great as it
allows both Corps of Drums Detachments to practice and play
as one unit, as they are for public displays. On the subject
of displays the cadets were part of the St Ives 900 Parade
on the Saturday morning. The parade was in celebration of
the 900-year anniversary of being granted its Fair Charter,
the Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire Hugh Duberly, CBE took
the salute. Saturday evening saw the more senior members put
on a small concert for the basic cadre with Sgt Duncan
Elliott as Drum Major for both events. At the end of the
weekend all the cadets received and Easter egg.
