The 6th of June saw the biggest parade of the year
for the Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force. The Cadet150 Ely Parade
was part of the national celebrations of 150 years of Cadet
Forces in the UK. Each year the Cadets Support the
Cambridgeshire Regimental Council at their memorial service at
Ely Cathedral. This year they invited the cadets to take part in
a much larger parade for their celebratory year. The Army cadets
were supported by the Sea Cadets, Combined Cadet Force and the
Air Training Corps. The service held in the Cathedral was
written by the senior padre of Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force,
The Reverend Alan Jesson TD. The Salute was taken by the Lord
Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Hugh Duberly CBE and Major General
John Sutherell (Retd) CB, CBE. On the green there were stands
from all the participants of the parade to show what the cadet
forces can offer young people in the County.
