The Army Cadet Force has been associated with the Duke of Edinburgh's
Award since its inception. The relationship has special significance in that Prince Philip is also Colonel-in-Chief of the ACF. The requirements of the DofE integrate well with those of the Army Proficiency Certificate (APC) syllabus, and many Cadets choose to work for both together.
A DofE programme is a real adventure from beginning to end. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from. You just need to be aged between 14 and 24 and realise there’s more to life than sitting on a sofa watching life pass you by.
The DofE Award has a huge website with all you need to know about every aspect of programme. There is also a Army Cadet and the DofE In Action together website. This site is more cadet orientated and is tailored around achieving the award whilst being a cadet. Links to both sites are in the right column. There are also page links to specific pages and parts of the award in the DofE section in the Cadet area of this site.
